Terms and conditions.

1. Operator and scope

These terms govern the purchase of excursions, tours and experiences (the “Services”) offered on dreamisland.it and booked through the Dream Island booking system (app.dreamisland.it). The operator is Dream Island SRL, Via Francesco Messina 45/B, 95015 Linguaglossa (CT), Italy, VAT no. 06159470878, a tour operator licensed by the Region of Sicily. MT Etna Excursions is a brand of the same company.

By booking, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these terms, including the cancellation conditions that apply to the chosen experience (art. 5), shown before payment. Tailor-made packages, groups and B2B agreements are also subject to the specific conditions sent in writing before confirmation.

2. Booking and conclusion of the contract

You book online by choosing the experience, the date, the number and type of participants, entering your details and completing the payment. Participant categories (e.g. adults, teenagers, children, infants) and their age limits vary by experience and are shown on the booking page. Some experiences are booked per vehicle or unit (e.g. “per quad” or “per boat”): the price is then per unit and the page states the maximum number of people. Some experiences offer variants or alternative itineraries with their own prices, shown before payment.

The contract is concluded when you receive the confirmation email with your booking reference. Many experiences can only be booked “on request”: in that case, as with requests sent by form, email or WhatsApp, sending the request is not a booking. We check availability, and the contract is concluded only with our written confirmation and the completed payment, as described in the confirmation.

Same-day online bookings are not available; online bookings for the next day close at 3:00 pm. After these deadlines we may accept or enter an urgent booking manually, if availability allows. The maximum number of participants bookable online depends on availability for the date and is shown in the booking form; for larger groups, please contact us by email.

3. Prices

All prices are in euros (€) and include VAT, local taxes and insurance cover. The price shown at the time of booking applies. Any mandatory surcharges (e.g. landing fees) are shown on the booking page and added to the total before payment; optional extras (e.g. hiking boot rental or snorkelling equipment) can be selected and are itemised before payment.

4. Payments

Online payments are processed by Stripe (credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other available methods). Card details are sent encrypted directly to Stripe and never pass through our servers. For some experiences run by local partners, payment may be made through the supplier’s own system: the confirmation says so, and the supplier’s payment and cancellation terms, communicated before purchase, also apply.

Where available for the chosen experience, the customer can choose between full payment online at the time of booking or an online deposit, in the amount (percentage or fixed) shown when booking, with the balance paid to the guide on the day of the excursion in cash or by card. If the balance is not paid, the customer cannot take part and the deposit is not refunded.

5. Cancellation by the customer

General rule, unless specific conditions apply to the experience: cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start time of the excursion (48 hours for private tours), via the “Manage your booking” link in the confirmation email or by writing to info@dreamisland.it. After these deadlines, and in case of a no-show or late arrival at the pickup point, the booking is non-refundable.

Specific conditions: some experiences have their own cancellation conditions in time bands with increasing penalties (e.g. “free cancellation up to 72 hours before; 50% penalty between 72 and 24 hours; no refund within 24 hours”). These prevail over the general rule, are shown on the booking page and in the summary before payment, and are expressly accepted at purchase. The penalty is calculated on the amount paid online; nothing is due beyond what has already been paid.

30-minute grace period: every booking made through the Dream Island booking system can be cancelled free of charge within 30 minutes of confirmation, even if the free-cancellation deadline has already passed (e.g. for an urgent booking), as long as the excursion has not started.

If the cancellation entitles you to a full or partial refund, the amount is credited automatically to the same payment method, usually within 5–10 working days.

6. Changes requested by the customer

Within the same deadlines as art. 5, the customer can ask, via the “Manage your booking” link or by email, to change the date (subject to availability, at the same price), the guide’s language or the pickup point. Changes involving a price difference must be agreed by email.

7. Cancellation or changes by the organiser

Weather and safety conditions, including volcanic and sea conditions, are monitored every day. In case of adverse conditions, force majeure, orders of the authorities or if the minimum number of participants stated on the experience page is not reached, we may cancel or change the excursion: the customer is contacted promptly and can choose between a new date and a full refund of the amount paid. Further compensation for costs not included in the Service (e.g. travel or accommodation) is excluded, without prejudice to mandatory legal rights.

8. Right of withdrawal

Under art. 59(1)(n) of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005), the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to leisure services when the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. The cancellation conditions in art. 5 therefore apply.

9. Participant obligations and requirements

Participants declare that they are physically and mentally fit for the chosen activity and agree to wear suitable clothing and footwear, as described for the experience. Specific requirements (minimum age, height, weight, driving licence for vehicles) are stated on the experience page.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Infants, where admitted, take part free of charge but occupy a seat for safety reasons. Pregnancy, medical conditions, reduced mobility, food allergies or intolerances must be reported in the notes field when booking or by email.

For experiences with customer-driven vehicles (e.g. quads), the driver must meet the legal requirements and is liable for damage caused by improper use of the vehicle, as explained before departure. During the excursion participants must follow the guide’s instructions; the guide may exclude from the activity, without refund, anyone who endangers their own or others’ safety.

10. Pickup points and times

The customer must be at the agreed pickup or meeting point a few minutes before the stated time. The pickup time may vary slightly with traffic; the guide or driver will contact the customer using the details provided. Late arrival or absence at the pickup point counts as a no-show (art. 5).

11. Liability

Dream Island SRL works with licensed guides and the insurance cover required by law. We are not liable for damage resulting from failure to follow the guide’s instructions, from inaccurate statements by the participant, from unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure, or for the loss of or damage to personal belongings. Nothing in these terms limits liability or rights that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Privacy

Personal data are processed to manage the booking and to meet legal obligations, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), as described in the privacy notice published on this website. Payments are handled by Stripe as an independent controller under its own policies.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the competent court is that of the consumer’s place of residence or domicile; in all other cases the Court of Catania has exclusive jurisdiction.
