An Excursion to the Aeolian Islands

The Aeolian Islands are a volcanic archipelago located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, north of Sicily. There are seven in total: Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Panarea, Stromboli, Alicudi and Filicudi.

The Aeolian Islands are famous for their beauty, with white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and a wide range of marine life. The climate is mild year-round, making the islands an ideal destination at any time of year.

Lipari
Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands. The main city, Lipari, is a port city of great tourist attraction, famous for its black volcanic sand beaches, crystal clear waters, social life, and ancient architecture.

The island Vulcano
Volcano Island is best known for Volcano, an active volcano that is one of the island’s main tourist attractions. But the island is also known for its thermal waters, which are rich in minerals and are a major tourist attraction.

The island’s main town, Porto di Levante, offers tourists many options for shopping, dining, and nightlife. There are also some beautiful sandy beaches, such as Black Sand Beach, on the island’s southwest coast.

Stromboli
Its volcanic activity is world-famous, with lava spattering out of its Stromboli Volcano about every 20 minutes. Its coastline is characterized by dark sand and pebble beaches, with numerous caves and coves winding along its shoreline. There are also numerous trails that offer breathtaking views of the sea and other islands in the archipelago.

Which island to visit?
The Aeolian Islands are a true natural paradise open to all and are all very beautiful to visit. If you are short on time, we recommend taking a mini cruise so you can see the main things about the islands.

If you are a lover of trekking, then a visit to the island of Vulcano and Stromboli cannot be missed during your vacation. Do you want to see the red, liquid lava? Then you have the best chance to see it on the volcano of Stromboli. We recommend an evening excursion so you can see the contrast of the lava.
