During the visit, you will enjoy a spectacular views of Mount Etna, an active volcano that is a testament to an ancient and mysterious history. Your riding experience will take you to the foot of the mountain, where you will experience the magical atmosphere of the unspoiled nature of Etna Park.
Starting from Linguaglossa we offer several routes, both for beginners and experts. For shorter duration tours we will visit the countryside and mountains surrounding Linguaglossa, with Mount Etna in the background. On longer excursions we will ride up to the foothills of Mount Etna, a hike immersed in the wilderness of the volcano.

Our Horse Riding Etna experiences vary in duration, itinerary and difficulty: we have tours for all enthusiasts, from beginners to experts. The horses are docile, reliable and accustomed to every trail and terrain.
These excursions are conducted in total safety and with the utmost respect for the environment and animals. The guides who will accompany you are passionate horse-riders with a strong knowledge of the area and all the necessary qualifications.

- The ranch from which our horseback excursions depart is located on the outskirts of the town of Linguaglossa.
- For an extra fee, to be determined on a case-by-case basis, it may be possible to transport the horses to Etna in the pine forest, starting instead near Rifugio Ragabo (1450m asl).
- When making your reservation, please indicate the presence of children under the age of 10 so that we can assess the feasibility of your requested excursion.
- Only one person per horse, two people are in no way allowed to ride on the same horse.
- During full-day tours (7-8 hours) you may stop for a bag lunch or at a dining facility (lunch not included).
- The itineraries described are approximate and may be subject to change at the discretion of the guides (conditioned by weather, individual abilities of participants and other factors).
- For groups of 3 or more participants, a deposit of € 5.00 per person is required in order to confirm the reservation. The deposit is refundable in case of cancellation received at least 48 hours before the start of the activity. No deposit is required for 2-person reservations.
Horse Riding Etna itineraries
40-minute excursion
- These routes are suitable for any beginner, even children:
- Horseback riding through the olive or chestnut groves around the ranch, a pleasant ride surrounded by nature suitable for everyone.
1-hour and 30-minute excursion
- Routes suitable for both beginners and more experienced riders available:
- Ascent and scenic ride to the mountains surrounding Linguaglossa (900m asl), with spectacular views of Mount Etna and surrounding areas. Less suitable for beginners.
- Tour among the dirt paths surrounding Linguaglossa, in the “San Leonardo creek” area.
2-hour and 30-minute excursion
- Routes suitable for both beginners and more experienced riders available:
- Longer and more challenging ride in the mountains surrounding Linguaglossa (900m asl), with panoramic views of Etna and surrounding areas. This route is similar to the 1h30m route but offers an even more complete experience. Not suitable for beginners.
- Route among the dirt paths surrounding Linguaglossa, in the “San Leonardo creek” area. It goes beyond the 1h30m route by immersing even more in the natural beauty of the area.
4-5 hours half-day excursion
- Routes suitable only for experts:
- Etna: Venturing along dirt paths around Linguaglossa, we will head in the direction of Sant’Alfio and then enter Etna Park by reaching Rifugio Monte Crisimo (1200m asl). The return route follows the Via Mareneve and winds through off-road paths on the slopes of the volcano.
- Etna: An alternative takes us instead to follow a more “direct” route to Mount Etna, always following dirt trails within the Etna Park that will take us up to Rifugio Ragabo (1450m asl), then back to the ranch.
- Alcantara: For itineraries of this duration, it is also possible to ride in the direction of the Alcantara Valley. Reaching the Alcantara River in the territory of Castiglione di Sicilia.
7-8 hours full-day excursion
- Routes suitable only for experts, packed lunch is included in the price:
- Etna: Riding on dirt paths in the surroundings of Linguaglossa we will first go in the direction of Sant’Alfio and then enter Etna Park, arriving as far as Rifugio Monte Crisimo (1200m asl). The excursion continues through the striking 2002 flow and the Ragabo Pine Forest in the area of “Zappinazzu”, Etna’s oldest pine tree. The return ride will go through the Mareneve Way and other off-road trails.
- Etna: Alternatively, once at Rifugio Monte Crisimo, it will be possible to continue the ascent reaching the area of Grotta dei Ladroni and Monti Sartorius craters (1600m asl), to then begin the descent and return to the ranch.
- Alcantara: For itineraries of this duration, it is also possible to ride in the direction of the Alcantara Valley. Going to the Alcantara River and the Alcantara Gorges and Alcantara Gurne area.
