Etna sunset tour 2000 meters
On this evocative half-day excursion, Dream Island will take you to admire the sunset at high altitude from one of the most beautiful spots on Etna’s northern slope.
After reaching Piano Provenzana in our SUVs, we continue, with a trek that takes you up to an altitude of 2050 mt.
During the trek we will cross ancient lava flows, pass through a lava canyon, walk on a plateau where nature is beginning to regrow, and be able to see the 1923 craters as we pass by their base.
At an altitude of 2050 meters, we will walk on the edges of the 2002 craters until we reach a vantage point with views (good visibility permitting) of the east coast of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands, the Ionian Sea and Calabria; we will stop to admire a striking sunset at high altitude.
After sunset, a trek back to Piano Provenzana will follow, where we will board our all-terrain vehicles and conclude the excursion.
