01Complete programme

Before departure, the guide explains how to use the automatic quad and provides the protective equipment. The guide then leads the route. Choose one of the following itineraries.

Alcantara Quad Tour - 1 hour

Departure from Castiglione di Sicilia or Agritour Donato, near the Alcantara Gorges.

Quad bike excursion among the dirt roads and paved paths of Motta Camastra and Francavilla di Sicilia. Traveling along dirt paths, immersed in local vegetation, we will cross the San Paolo River and then arrive in Francavilla di Sicilia.
Points of interest: Motta Camastra; Francavilla di Sicilia; off-road trails; San Paolo River.

Alcantara Quad Tour - 2 hours

Departure from Castiglione di Sicilia or Agritour Donato, near the Alcantara Gorges.

Quad bike tour among the dirt roads and paved paths of Motta Camastra and Francavilla di Sicilia. Passing through off-road trails, surrounded by the local vegetation, we will cross the San Paolo River and then arrive in Francavilla di Sicilia. We will then continue in the direction of Castiglione di Sicilia, visiting first the Gurne dell'Alcantara, and then arriving at the bridge that connects Francavilla to Castiglione, a bridge that crosses over the Alcantara River from which you can enjoy an excellent panoramic view. If time permits, we will visit the Byzantine Cuba before returning.
During the summer time, there will be a relaxing break during which you can visit and bathe in the refreshing waters of the Alcantara Gurne. In the fall period you will instead take a quad tour of the medieval village Castiglione di Sicilia.
Points of interest: Motta Camastra; Francavilla di Sicilia; Castiglione di Sicilia; off-road trails; San Paolo River; Alcantara River; Alcantara Gurne; Byzantine Cuba; bathing in the Alcantara Gurne / visit Castiglione di Sicilia (depending on season).

02Departure and route direction

The departure point is confirmed when you book. The itinerary is unchanged, but may be followed in the opposite direction depending on the starting point.

Wear closed shoes; bring a jacket in colder months, sunglasses and a bandana or mask against dust. Helmet and liner are supplied.

Massimo really knows a lot of things about everything we asked not only about mount Etna but also a lot of different things like living in Sicilia, the cities, the history. We were really excited about the trip and we are not disappointed at all so I highly recommend booking the tour with Max.
