In recent years in southern Italy there has been a tendency from young people, who have decided to inherit their grandparents’ fields and start a career as agricultural entrepreneurs, cultivating them like what they did in the old days.
This is an clear trend, which marks a return to the earth that has not been seen since the industrial revolution. Cultivating the land, is not seen as “the last resort”, no longer taken into consideration by those with a low school education. Now represents the future of new generations, who in addition to having a degree, are driven by a desire to do and change things.
Thanks to manual and artisanal work, many young people have found the solution to get out of the work crisis in our country and secure a future, mixing business and pleasure. Furthermore, the interest for the environment and for ecology has allowed them to test our skills and inventiveness, trying to find environmentally friendly and innovative solutions. In fact, young entrepreneurs have not only been involved in cultivating the land, but also in the direct sale of products, the creation of educational farms or kindergartens around in nature.
Last but not least, even experiential tourism is really starting to catch on. In fact, since the concept of travel and tourism has changed, in recent years ther are more and more tourists who, on their journey, seek unique and unrepeatable experiences, which make their stay original and not standardized
So many companies, throughout the Italian territory, now offer a wide range of experiences to live and customize; such as: taking part in the grape harvest, olive harvesting or cheese production.
It’s not just the destination but also the emotion that the traveler can try and then keep it forever
